Dr. Balakumaran is a renowned Surgical Gastroenterologist and currently practices at VS Hospitals, Chennai. For the past 6 years, Dr. Balakumaran has worked as a Gastrointestinal Surgeon and gained proficient skills and knowledge in the segments. Dr. Balakumaran pursued degree of MBBS from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in 2003, MS (General Surgery) from the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in 2009 and Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery in Coimbatore in 2009.

Dr. Balakumaran is a well known member of the Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology and Indian Medical Association. He has been rewarded with various awards including Bursary Awards IASG Pune.
