Care. Cure. Compassion
Prevention of Cervical cancer is important, as Cervical Cancer is one among the few cancers that’s almost completely preventable. Cervical Cancer is a major cause of suffering and premature death among women in developing countries.
This type of cancer occurs in the cells of the cervix which is at the lower part of the uterus connecting the vagina. The normal cells of the cervix gradually develop abnormal changes which are termed to be precancerous.
*Vaginal bleeding between periods, after menopause, or at the time after the intercourse *Watery, bloody vaginal discharge *Pelvic pain or pain during intercourse
– Multiple sexual partner – Early sexual activity – Other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) – A weakened immune system – Smoking
Cervical Cancer is one of the few cancers which is almost totally preventable. The preventive screenings for cervical cancer are HPV Vaccine and the Pap Smear Test.
Pap smear test is a screening procedure for testing cervical cancer in women. It helps you to reveal changes in the cervical cells where it may turn into cancer later.
Most cervical cancers are associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) and spread through sexual contact. The HPV vaccine prevents most of these cases of cervical cancer before a girl or woman is exposed to the virus. We recommend it for young girls.
